AP PRO 5000 4 Pot Brake Calipers

AP is synonymous with all forms of racing and is known throughout the world as the best.

We have chosen AP (as Lotus have in all their race cars) to be our supplier for our upgraded brake packages.

For those running 200BHP+ and / or competitively racing, AP calipers and discs are an essential requirement.

The main benefits are they will take / dissipate more heat with no fade and last longer because of the material and process used in the manufacture.

These AP calipers will require larger discs than standard; we recommend at least 290mm AP discs are used as they will be too powerful for standard size discs.

We recommend larger 295mm OD discs for those cars with 16" front wheels and 290mm for those cars with 15" front wheels, this increases braking force in three ways.

1/. The larger pistons within the caliper create more clamping load.
2/. The leverage on the outside of the disc is further outwards thus the clamping force is greater.
3/. As the pads have a larger surface area they will last virtually twice as long as a standard size brake pad.

Although the AP discs have a larger outside diameter, they are actually lighter than the original equipment steel discs you have on your car.

Fit within a 15" front wheel if required.

SUPPLIED AS 1 PAIR AND REQUIRE SIDE MOUNTED BRAKE HOSES.

THE S2 ELISE & S2 EXIGE REQUIRE OUR GT HUBS TO FIT THESE CALIPERS (i.e. if you have steel hubs you will require our GT Hubs).
